3A Health Care, a company focused on the future with 3D printing
3A Health Care, a company specializing in aerosol therapy, could not renounce the possibilities offered by the 3D printing.
Dynamic and up to date, 3A Health Care is a company specializing in aerosol, suction pumps and related accessories. Born in 1986, after an initial period in which it has dedicated to the contract manufacturing of medical devices, the company has developed its own market and acquired the necessary skills to manage the technical design features, treat product design, engineer and develop their own products, prototyping them and test them in the laboratory, to enable industrial production and certify production according to the current European and international standards. In today produces aerosol therapy equipment for home use and professional vacuum cleaners for professional use, emergency and home care for clients in Italy and abroad; in Italy and abroad customer’s logo is a trademark of the customer or through distributors.
Given the company’s spirit, it was quite obvious that 3D printing intercepts the path of this reality. “The interest in 3D printing was born about three years ago, updating us and reading magazines. We were interested in a product with a high degree of precision, in order to quickly build our prototypes, “explains Simone Abate, CEO of the company. Last year, the curiosity of the company “meets” 3DZ. “We contacted 3A Health Care in September of 2014,” says Alberto Baraldi, of 3DZ.
“The company is well known throughout the territory and we were aware of its high focus on innovation. With this arrangement it was not hard to be heard and be able to convey the potential that could be offered by 3D printing. ”
So, from this fortunate meeting born the purchase of a 3D printer, in the specific the Projet 3510 of 3D Systems, for the technical office of 3A Health Care. The most obvious advantage that Simone Abate underlines is related to time reduction. “Thanks to the 3D printer, we can get a prototype in a few hours and quickly touch with hand the product after it is conceived and designed. Depending on the size of the piece, the times for prototyping 3A range from 4-5 hours to 20; this speed is useful for us and for our customers, who are very satisfied. ”
The use of the 3D printer in the technical office of 3A has now been consolidated: “On average, we use it once a week,” added Abate, who has a very positive attitude to the potential of 3D printing technology: “I consider it as a technology that takes off every constraint to the imagination and creativity of designers. “fantasy, creativity and high-precision technology are the advantages offered by the technology of 3D printing; advantages that apply to both those approaching 3D printing as amateur than to those who decide to catch in their company the possibilities offered by this technology.”
“3A Health Care, mainly due to its focus on technological innovation, do not became easy to enthusiasm and they carefully considered what the acquisition of a 3D printer could represent for their work and, having assessed all technical aspects in depth, they proceeded to purchase it“, says Alberto Baraldi of 3DZ, which followed 3A Health Care.
The collaboration between the two companies has been profitable for both. Explains Simon Abate: “3DZ, as well as illustrate the technologies and the printer, provided us with the telephone support service to monitor the status of the machine and training more tiling on starting the installation.”
“In addition to a technical structure throughout the country, that comprises seven branches in Italy” continues Alberto Baraldi “we offer our customers a training support aimed to the use of the machine (whose functioning is very simple) and especially aimed to teaching techniques to optimize and maximize results, as the correct parts positioning and their orientation in order to reduce waste of the support material.
The technology of 3D printing provides new design possibilities and 3DZ helps to develop them with its customers’ product development team suggesting new ways to approach the project. “By printers users, then, they can also get important information on the most practical aspects of 3D models post processing such as painting, surface and aesthetic treatment. “To paraphrase the famous saying ‘necessity is the mother of invention’ 3D printing can be said as the innovation mother of invention.”
